Announced earlier this month, the 940 JM Pro builds on the successful 930 model, but with a bevy of enhancements geared towards competitive shooting, namely 3-gun. I'm pretty much set on the 930 (semi-auto) series. I have shot both a standard 930 and a JM-Pro. I'm not knowledgeable enough to judge if a JM-Pro is worth the extra $$$ or not (over a standard 930), so any help in that area would be greatly appreciated. I was using winchester, fiocchi, remington, jet, and federal as brands and it just didn't matter. The gun was cleaned about 100 rounds ago. see images of stuck shells. The 940 is just as much of a dumpster fire as the 930. Mossberg sent a pair to be stage guns at the Blue Line match a month or so ago with both breaking before the day was over. Of the three shooters I know that were there, none of them got through that stage without issues.The 940 has a little bit of difference with the gas system, but Mossberg started using Or3gun parts on the 940 from the get go. I still can't get the AA low recoil, low noise rounds to cycle reliably, but it eats everything else with no issues. In my opinion, you'd get a lot more for your money buying the JM Pro and picking up an add-on SPX ghost ring barrel. The SPX ghost ring rear sight is made by LPA and is mounted on a picatinny rail, so that's an easy add. I would love to tell you that I am a gun genius, disassembled, immediately located the problem, and repaired. Not the case. No idea what was causing the issue. My guess was trash in the trigger group and it just needed to be shot. Took it apart, cleaned it well. Put 100 rounds through it.
